CS2 system requirements

OS: Windows 10 64-bit. CPU: 4 hardware threads, Intel Core i5 750 or equivalent. RAM: 8 GB. GPU: Video card must support Shader Model 5.0, 1 GB VRAM, DirectX 11. Storage: 85 GB.

In practice that means almost any laptop or desktop bought in the last decade can run CS2 at low settings. macOS and Linux are no longer officially supported — Linux works through Proton with caveats; macOS does not.

For high refresh-rate competitive play (240 Hz+), aim for a modern 6-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600 equivalent or better. CS2 is CPU-bound at high frame rates, so a strong single-thread CPU matters more than raw GPU power.

An NVMe SSD is strongly recommended — it shaves seconds off map loads, which matters in competitive queues.
